Victoria spuds first of 10 wells

Victoria Petroleum has spudded the first of 10 exploration wells in South Australia and Queensland.

The Growler-1 well in South Australia's PEL 104 targets up to 16 million barrels of oil in the Namur, Basal Birkhead, Hutton and Poolowanna sandstones.

The well is expected to take 15 days to reach its planned total depth of 2079 metres.

Partners in PEL 104 are operator Victoria (40%), Impress Ventures (40%) and Roma Petroleum (20%).
