Shell lifts Bonny force majeure

By Upstream staff

Anglo-Dutch supermajor Shell has lifted force majeure on exports of Bonny crude from Nigeria, more than a month after a leak in the Nembe Creek pipeline cut output.

"Force majeure on Bonny Light has been lifted," Shell spokeswoman Eurwen Thomas said

On 26 July, Shell declared force majeure on exports of Bonny crude for the rest of July and in August.

The pipeline leak was later repaired, allowing production to return to normal rates.
