Victoria see signs of oil at Growler-1

By Upstream staff

Victoria Petroleum has found oil at the first of 10 exploration wells that it is drilling in South Australia and Queensland.

The company is now getting ready to carry out a drill stem test in Growler-1 at an interval of between 1728 metres and 1737 metres.

Growler-1 targets up to 16 million barrels of oil in the Namur, Basal Birkhead, Hutton and Poolowanna sandstones.

Partners in South Australia’s PEL 104 are operator Victoria (40%), Impress Ventures (40%) and Roma Petroleum (20%).
