Colombia: Kappa and Black Rock are set to start testing the Arce oilfield here
Kappa set to test Arce
Calgary's Kappa Energy has started work on the testing facilities at its Arce oilfield in the onshore Las Quinchas Block, Colombia.
Partner Black Rock Oil & Gas said that the steaming equipment and tanks to store the oil produced have arrived on location and steaming of the field will start during the next 30 days. It added that this would take about six months.
Kappa also expects to start drilling an additional two wells in the area before the end of this year.
It has also started shooting a 50 line kilometre 2D seismic survey to define and evaluate prospects and trends ahead of drilling which is scheduled for 2007.
The two companies are equal partners on the block.
