Under review: Cougar has been ordered to shut down its operations in Queensland

Queensland’s Department of Environment and Resource Management (DERM) has ordered Cougar Energy to shut down its pilot underground coal gasification (UCG) plant near Kingaroy after traces of carcinogens were detected in groundwater monitoring bores.
