BP project: the floater is destined for the supermajor's Block 31 development, off Angola

Modec Offshore Production Systems has handed Aker Solutions' wholly-owned subsidiary Aker Marine Contractors a $30 million mooring installation contract for hook-up of the Bourgogne floating production, storage and offloading vessel off Angola.

Modec will supply the floater to BP for the supermajor's Plutao, Saturno, Venus and Marte development in Block 31.

The FPSO will be installed in about 2000 metres of water and have production capacity of 157,000 barrels per day.

Project management and operations planning will be performed from Aker Solutions' offices in Houston, Texas.
