Offshore drilling contractor Transocean has just completed the sale of one of its shallow-water rigs.
Transocean did not identify the buyer of the Trident 20 jack-up, but London-listed Eurasia Drilling said in late January it was close to buying the rig and had previously put the value at about $260 million.
The rig is contracted with Petronas Carigali in the Caspian Sea at $185,000 per day until the end of 2013, Transocean said in its January fleet status report, Reuters reported.
The sale was revealed in its February report, released today.
Transocean also said that Petrobras was moving one of its ultra-deep-water rigs, the Petrobras 10000, from Angola to Brazil this month, on a contract running until August 2019 at $441,000 per day.
The rig had been earning $415,000 per day in Angola.
