Mosaic drilling Churchie West probe

By Upstream staff

Australian explorer Mosaic Oil has spudded its onshore Churchie West-1 exploration well in south-east Queensland.

The well is being drilled to a total depth of 2718 metres. Nitrogen will be used to drill the well in the primary objective Tinowon sandstone.

It will also test the early Triassic Rewan formation reservoirs.

Success at Churchie West-1, which is about 2.5 kilometres south south-west of the producing Churchie-3 well, will extend the reservoir fairway from the Churchie field into PL 213.

Partners in PL 213 are operator Mosaic (83.333%) and Santos (16.667%).
