Singaporean rig building giant Keppel Corporation has won orders worth a total of S$210 million (US$132.2 million) for the conversion of two floating production storage and offloading vessels and five anchor handling tug and supply (AHTS) vessels, it said today.
The FPSO orders were placed by SBM Offshore and Frontline FPSO, Keppel said.
The AHTSs were ordered by Whitesea Shipping & Supply.
The SBM job will see Keppel convert the 310,000 dwt VLCC Litiopa into a floater for use at ExxonMobil's Kizomba C development, off Angola.
The floater, FPDO Saxi, will have a capacity of 100,000 barrels of oil per day and be able to store close to 2 million barrels of oil. It is due for delivery in early 2008.
The Frontline job will see Keppel convert a 112,000 dwt shuttle tanker, Front Puffin, for the Puffin field, off Australia.
Upon delivery, Front Puffin will be able to produce up to 40,000 bpd and store up to 720,000 barrels of oil. Keppel did not give a delivery date for the floater.
The AHTS vessels are due to be delivered to Whitesea between 2008 and late 2009. They will be put to work in teh Middle East.
