By Upstream staff

Aberdeen-based PSL Energy Services has won a one-year £4.6 million ($8.6 million) contract to provide leak testing and controlled bolting services to TengizChevrOil in Tengiz, Kazakhstan.

The contract is the energy services group's first significant contract in Kazakhstan, PSL said.

It said it had established a project office in Atyrau, Kazakhstan from its regional bas in Baku, Azerbaijan.

TengizChevrOil is a joint venture between Chevron (50%), ExxonMobil (25%), Kazakh government vehicle KazMunaiGaz (20%) and Russia's LukArco (5%).

The work is at the consortium's Second Generation Project in Tengiz.
