November start for OSX Brasil

A great leap forward: Production from the Waimea field is expected to start in November.

OSX Brasil will see its first floating production, storage and offloading vessel start production at the Waimea field, in the Campos basin offshore Brazil by early November.

The OSX-1 FPSO is expected to arrive at Waimea in September, after it sets sail from Singapore’s Keppel Shipyard, where it has undergone modification over the past year.

Formerly known as Nexus-1, OSX spent $420 million to acquire and modify the South Korea-built vessel, which will be equipped to produce up to 80,000 barrels of oil per day. Waimea crude is around 21 degree API.
