Super Puma joins Trinity II crew search

Wide search: Super Puma helicopter added to fleet searching for lost crew

The air fleet supporting the Pemex coordinated search and rescue effort for ten missing offshore workers in the Tropical Storm ravaged Gulf of Mexico has been bolstered after a Super Puma helicopter from the Mexican presidential fleet was released to aid in the search, according to media reports.

Built by Eurocopter, a division of the aerospace and defense group EADS, the four-bladed, twin-engine, medium-size utility helicopter is helping in the search of the missing workers from the Trinity II liftboat, which includes four Mexican nationals and four Americans.



Details on the other missing workers were not available.



With Nate likely to make landfall on Sunday, the arsenal scouring the air and gulf now includes two Naval MI-17 medium weight, single rotor helicopters and a fixed-wing aircraft, at least three helicopters from Pemex’s fleet, and the Oceanografia Osa…
