Indonesian find: RH Petrogas has made a gas and condensate discovery with the North Klalin-1 well on the Kepala Burung PSC

Singapore-listed RH Petrogas (RHP) has made a gas and condensate discovery in the North Klalin-1 exploration well on the Kepala Burung production sharing contract in West Papua, Indonesia.

The well flowed at a rate of almost 5.9 million cubic feet of gas per day with 137 barrels of condensate per day during recent drill stem tests.

RHP said it expected the development of the field could be accelerated due to the close proximity of other producing fields, with output commencing early next year.

The company now plans to appraise the North Klalin discovery through the drilling of delineation wells.

RHP holds a 60% working interest in the Kepala Burung PSC and is partnered by PetroChina (30%) and Pertamina (10%).
