BP CFO to step down

Incoming: Future BP chief financial officer Brian Gilvary

BP chief financial officer Byron Grote will step down from his role at the end of the year to take on a new role as executive vice president of the supermajor’s corporate business activities.

In his new role Grote will be responsible for BP’s commodity trading arm, integrated supply and trading (IST), and its shipping and alternative energy businesses, as well as the company's technology and remediation management activities.

Grote will remain on the company board, joined by incoming chief financial officer Brian Gilvary, who has been deputy group chief financial officer and head of finance for two years.
