Tantanna pipeline restarts

Restart: Santos has re-instated an oil pipeline between Tantanna and Gidgealpa in the Cooper basin which was shut for repairs in April

Australian independent Santos has re-instated an oil pipeline between Tantanna and Gidgealpa in South Australia which was shut down for repairs in April.

The closure of the pipeline resulted in output from the Beach Energy’s fields on PEL 92, on the western flank of the Cooper basin, to be restricted to about 4500 barrels per day due to road transport limits.

However with the re-instatement of the pipeline production via the Tantanna facility from PEL 92 has increased to about 5500 bpd. The current capacity of the line is about 6000 bpd.

Beach is operator of PEL 92 and holds a 75% stake with Cooper Energy holding the remaining 25% interest.
