Growler oil flow remains low

By Upstream staff

Attempts to coax increased output from Victoria Petroleum’s Growler-1 oil discovery in South Australia have failed.

The well was propellant fracture stimulated as part of the completion procedure in a bid to enhance future production from between 20 barrels per day and 25 bpd.

However, this failed to result in any noticeable improvement in flow rates.

Partner Impress Energy said that it expected flow rates to improve once the well was placed on pump and added that the joint venture had already submitted an application for an extended production test to the South Australia authorities.

Partners in PEL 104 are operator Victoria (40%), Impress Ventures (40%) and Roma Petroleum (20%).
