Lundin calling: the Swedish group has signed a production-sharing agreement in Ethiopia
Lundin wins Ethiopian stake
Sweden's Lundin Petroleum has signed a production-sharing contract covering two blocks in Ethiopia's Ogaden basin.
Lundin said it had signed a deal with Ethiopia's Ministry of Mines and Energy today for the onshore blocks 2 and 6, covering 24,000 square kilometres west of the Calub and Hilala discoveries.
The company said no drilling had been undertaken yet on the land, but indications of oil, natural gas and condensates were known from well tests and surface seeps tothe south and east of the blocks.
