Australia’s Stuart Petroleum is planning to drill a follow-up to its successful Might & Power and Revenue wells in the Cooper-Eromanga basin, South Australia.
The Rising Fast-1 well will be drilled on the Dunoon Ridge on trend with the two wells. It will also follow-up the Dunoon Ridge oil discoveries made at Harpoono in May 2004 and subsequent appraisal drilling of the Harpoono field in 2006.
Rising Fast-1, located 700 metres north-east of Revenue-1 and 3.6 kilometres north-east of Harpoono discovery well, has potential in-place reserves of between 500,000 to 1.4 million barrels of oil in the Murta and Birkhead formations as well as the McKinlay Member.
Stuart said that it will be spudded on 13 November following completion of Might & Power-1. Planned total depth is 1550 metres.
