Shooting star: Wavefield Inseis's existing seismic vessel Geowave Commander
New seismic flagship for Wavefield
Norwegian geophysical company Wavefield Inseis said it had ordered a new purpose-built 3D seismic flagship for its survey vessel fleet.
Wavefield said the Geowave Endeavour, to enter service in April 2008 would be one of the most powerful and advanced seismic vessels in the world, with a capacity for 16 streamers and eight gun strings.
Wavefield said the Endeavour would also be designed to allow it to accommodate future advances in seismic technology.
The 106-metre vessel will be owned by Volstad Maritime and is to be built at Norway's Fosen yard.
