Petrobras FPSO: Started work in Santos basin

Petrobras' BW Cidade de Sao Vicente FPSO has started work in the Iracema area of the Santos basin, the company said on Friday.

The FPSO has been connected to the Brazilian state oil giant’s RJS-647 well, which is in about 2,200 metres of water.

The vessel will work in the area for about six months collecting reservoir data and flow data to help develop the permanent production system.

The well is expected to flow at about 10,000 barrels per day during the test period.

The Cidade de Mangaratiba FPSO is expected to be installed in 2014, Petrobras said.

Petrobras as operator has a 65% stake in the project, while BG has 25% and Petrogal has 10%.
