CNOOC Ltd broadens horizons

CNOOC Ltd, the listed unit of China National Offshore Oil  Corporation (CNOOC) is embarking on a plan that envisages increased co-operation with foreign oil companies at home and  overseas as it works to meet a  targeted hydrocarbon production growth rate of between 6% and 10% per annum from now until 2015.

Vietnam strike: for Petronas Carigali

Petronas taps Vietnam gas riches

Petronas Carigali has flowed 23 million cubic feet of gas per day from the Thai Binh-1X exploration well, in Block 102 in the Song Hong basin off Vietnam.

The well flowed the gas during a drill stem test over two sand intervals. It also produced condensate at a rate of about three barrels per million cubic feet of gas.

Partner Singapore Petroleum Company (SPC) said another drill stem test is currently being carried out to test the hydrocarbon potential of the upper sand intervals.

Partners in blocks 102 and 106 are Petronas, PetroVietnam Investment and Development Company, SPC and ATI Petroleum.
