PA turns on Didon taps

By Upstream staff

Sweden's PA Resources has started up production from the Didon oilfield, off Tunisia.

PA said the Didon-5 well is currently producing about 8500 barrels of oil per day.

At present, output is limited by the existing export system, but production will gradually be ramped up to about 20,000 bpd once an upgraded export system is in place.

Didon-5 has an expected production capacity of more than 12,000 bpd. The existing subsea wells at the field, Didon-3 and Didon-4, will be put on production when the new export system is in operation.

PA is currently drilling ahead at the Didon-6 production well. The well has a target depth of almost 5000 metres, including the horizontal section.

Once Didon-6 is completed, work on the Elyssa sidetrack well will resume.

PA operates the Didon field with a 100% stake.
