Subsea7 wins Terra Nova Surf

Surf: The contract win will boost Subsea7's St John's facility.

Oslo-listed Subsea 7 has won a subsea, umbilical, riser and flowline contract worth about $100 million from Canada’s Suncor Energy for work on its Terra Nova field, off the coast of Newfoundland.

Engineering and project management activities will start at Subsea7’s St John’s office, some 350 kilometres north west of the project site, with offshore operations due to start during the third quarter of 2012.

The contract scope includes the management, engineering and installation of nine 300 metre replacement risers and associated flowlines, jumpers and tie-ins, Subsea7 said.

Subsea7 vice president Canada Phil Simons said the contract win would further support the development of the company’s St John’s office.
