Galoc production restarts with FPSO

FPSO Rubicon Intrepid: A new bow mounted, non-disconnectable turret mooring system has been installed.

Production has started at the Galoc oilfield, offshore the Philippines island of Palawan, operated by Otto Energy subsidiary Galoc Production Company.

Production started on the field on Monday following a planned shutdown for refurbishment of floating production storage and offloading vessel Rubicon Intrepid – which saw the vessel undergo re-certification, maintenance, inspection and turret installation work.

In a GPC announcement, the company said the most significant work done was the installation of a bow mounted, non-disconnectable turret mooring system to replace the previous disconnectable system.
