Norwegian win: Aker will design and fabricate a control umbilical for Statoil's Svalin C project in the North Sea

Aker to design and build six kilometre long control umbilical for Statoil-operated oilfield

Norway’s Aker Solutions has been awarded a contract to design and fabricate a control umbilical for Statoil’s Svalin C project on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

Aker was awarded the contract by Subsea 7 which won the subsea construction, umbilicals, risers and flowlines contract on the project earlier this year.

Aker  did not disclose the value of the contract but said the scope of the work would include a six kilometre long control umbilical, connectors, engineering and project management.

Management, engineering and procurement of the umbilical will be carried out at Aker’s headquarters…
