Exoma kicks off Galilee programme

Ready to go: Exoma and CNOOC are teaming up for a 22-well campaign in 2012.

Australia’s Exoma Energy has started its 2012 exploration programme over the Galilee basin in Queensland with the spudding its Alma-1 well on ATP 996P.

The well, one of 22 planned to be drilled over the course of the year, will be a dual test of coal bed methane in the Betts Creek and Aramac coal measures and shale oil and gas in the Toolebuc shale.

Alma-1 will be drilled to a total depth of 1275 metres, hitting the Toolebuc shale at 453 metres and the top Permian coal at 1030
