Australia’s Bow Energy has recovered small amounts of oil from a drill stem test at its Donga-4 appraisal well in Queensland's Surat basin.
The company said that an initial review of the drill stem test results indicated that some blockage could have restricted the flow of fluids into the tool and that it will carry out a detailed analysis of the results.
The test had been carried out over a five metre interval within the primary Donga sandstone target.
Bow is currently drilling the well towards its total depth before it carries out wireline logging.
The partners in ATP 805P are operator Bow Energy (85%) and Victoria (15%).
