SapuraKencana lands Otway gig

Contract win: SapuraKencana will carry out work on the third phase of development of the Origin-led Otway gas project off Australia

Malaysia’s SapuraKencana Petroleum has been awarded a contract on the third phase of Origin Energy’s Otway gas project off south-east Australia.

SapuraKencana said the scope of the work would include project management, installation engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation and pre-commissioning works associated with the development of the Geographe discovery, which lies about 55 kilometeres off Port Campbell, Victoria.

The company said the 14 month contract, which is worth about A$51 million, would be carried out by its wholly owned subsidiary SC Projects.

It added that it would use the Normand Clough subsea multi-purpose vessel as the main installation vessel to carry out the work.
