The
independent
has
chartered
the
Transocean
Marianas
to
drill
at
least
four
wells
off
the
southern
African
nation,
it
said
on
Wednesday.
Upstream
revealed
last
week
that
the
company
was
close
to
inking
a
deal
for
the
semisub
but
was
in
danger
of
losing
out
if
it
did
not
firm
up
a
contract
soon.
HRT
remained
mum
on
the
dayrate
for
the
rig
but
said
drilling
would
begin
late
in
the
fourth
quarter
or
early
next
year.
It
will
be
on
charter
for
280
days
which
HRT
said
is
“enough
to
drill
at
least
four
exploration
wells”.
