Gazprom hints at potential Shtokman partners

Russian gas giant Gazprom is considering finding new partners to develop its Shtokman field off the Russian Arctic as it seeks to turn it into a full liquefied natural gas project.

Vice chairman Alexander Medvedev told a global gas conference on Wednesday that the current partners, Statoil and Total, each holding around a quarter share, had "good chances" of remaining, Dow Jones reported.

He also said he had "a good idea" of who Gazprom's new partners could be but he declined to say.
