North Sea-focused junior sees stocks rise on oilfield production

Ithaca Energy has seen its shares rise in both London and Toronto after kicking off exports from its operated North Sea Athena oil field.

Shares in the North Sea-focused junior were up 5.5% to £1.15 in London and up 7.5% at $1.85 in Toronto at around 1430 GMT on Thursday.

Earlier on Thursday, the explorer said the first export cargo had been offloaded from the BW Athena floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, where storage tanks were being filled at a metered initial peak gross production rate of 22,000 barrels per day.
