Titan Perth basin stake increases

Slice: Titan's stake in EP455 has increased following the WA government decision.

Australia’s Titan Energy will increase its stake in onshore Perth basin exploration permit EP455 to 18.5% after securing the necessary approvals from the Western Australian government.

Project operator AWE announced plans to vary its work obligations on the permit in April – obligations which would have seen it drill an exploration well by 21 June 2012, and commence fraccing of it in 2013.

But Titan and AWE had agreed to apply to merge the two commitments, meaning that the well must now be drilled and fracced by 21 June 2013.

Following the WA Department of Mines and Petroleum’s approval of the variation, Titan’s interest in the EP455 project area will increase 8.5%, reducing AWE’s stake to 81.5%.
