Farstad eyes PSV order

Ordering more: Karl-Johan Bakken-led Farstad to soon order PSVs

Norway's Farstad Shipping will sign "in the near future" for a pair of platform supply vessel (PSV) newbuilds after scooping charter contracts from compatriot oil major Statoil.

Shell has also signed up for three of the owner's other PSVs for its Prelude project off Australia while also in the same region Santos is taking a pair of units.

Statoil has inked a contract for two PSV newbuilds for a fixed six-year period and three one-year extention options, Farstad said on Thursday.

The owner did not reveal much about its plans for ordering the vessels, saying only that the "shipbuilding contracts for these will be signed in the near future".
