GMX completes sixth well

Bakken trend: GMX plans to double its production this quarter.

Oklahoma-based GMX Resources has completed a sixth successful horizontal well in the Bakken trend of North Dakota’s McKenzie County, the company has announced.

GMX said the Johnston 31-4-1H well, in which it had a 55% working interest, was completed as a 34-stage frac Middle Bakken producer, achieving a peak rate of 1479 barrels of oil per day.

The well was drilled to a measured depth of 20,979 feet with a lateral length of 8869 feet.

A seventh operated well, the Fairfield State 21-16-1H in Billings County, North Dakota was spudded on 13 May and had been drilled to a total measured depth of 20,979 feet with a lateral length of 9510, the company said.
