PTTEP fires up Greater Bongkot South

Celebrate: output at the Greater Bongkot South field is now averaging 320 MMcfd as per the daily contractual quantity for the field

State-run PTT Exploration & Production (PTTEP) has ramped up production at the Greater Bongkot South field in the Gulf of Thailand after completing a test run of the field's processing facility.

PTTEP announced on Tuesday the field had been producing at a rate of 320 million cubic feet per day and 9000 barrels of condensate per day since 16 June, meeting the field’s daily contractual quantity of gas.

It added the increased output from Greater Bongkot South meant the production capacity of the overall Bongkot project now stood at 900 MMcfd, which it said was equivalent to 20% of Thailand’s natural gas demand.
