Subsea 7 wins North Sea gig

Subsea 7: the company will fabricate and install a 7.5 kilometre pipeline bundle for an unnamed client in the North Sea

Offshore engineering player Subsea 7 has been awarded a $95 million contract to provide the project management, procurement, fabrication and installation of a 7.5 kilometre pipeline bundle in the UK North Sea.

Subsea 7 did not name who handed out the award, saying only that it was and international oil and gas operator.

The pipeline bundle will contain an eight inch production pipeline, six inch gas lift pipeline and control systems.

Subsea 7 added the pipeline system would tie back a single production well to an existing subsea manifold and platforms.

Engineering and project management on the contract will start this month, with offshore operations scheduled to take place in 2014. Fabrication work will take place at the company’s Wick facility in Scotland.
