Rialto hits hydrocarbons in Gazelle sidetrack

Gazelle: Rialto has recovered oil and gas samples from a sidetrack of the P3 well off the Ivory Coast

Australia-listed Rialto Energy has recovered oil and gas samples from a sidetrack of its Gazelle P3 well on Block CI 202, off the Ivory Coast.

Rialto said the sidetrack was successfully drilled into the planned Albian target to a total depth of 2959 metres and intersected both oil and gas zones as expected.

The company retrieved oil and gas samples from the Upper Cenomanian sands which it said would be used to assist in the design of the field development processing facilities.

It added wireline logs had also been run and vertical seismic profiling and sidewall coring were expected to be completed in the next three days.
