Siemens wins Petrocedeno water treatment works

Spinning new business: Siemens Energy to equip PDVSA-led field with water treatment system

Siemens Energy has won a contract to supply a produced water treatment system for a polymer-based enhanced oil recovery project at the PDVSA-led Petrocedeno heavy oilfield in Venenzuela.

The German company’s oil and gas division said French chemical company SNF SAS had subcontracted it for the works, with equipment due to be operational by the end of October and deployed on site next year.

Siemens Energy will supply a Spinsep vertical flotation unit to carry out the primary separation of oil and water as well as a Monosep high flow walnut shell filter for tertiary treatment, with the system handling 10,000 barrels of produced water per day.

SNF will then mix the treated water with their polymers for reinjection in the well.
