Tie up: French group Entrepose Contracting has bought Spie Capag from UK-based Amec

French pipeline and gas storage player Entrepose Contracting said it had bought 100% of the shares in Amec pipeline subsidiary Amec Spie Capag for €48.5 million ($65.3 million).

Entrepose said the company would become a subsidiary company renamed Spie Capag.

Spie Capag specialises in onshore gas and oil pipelines with major projects including the Bakou-Tbilissi-Ceyhan pipeline, the Medgaz project in Algeria and the Yemen LNG project.

The company reported turnover of €198 million in 2006.

Entrepose said the acquisition would allow it to extend its reach to Asia and the Middle East from its dominant markets in Europe and Africa.
