US supermajors in Saipem WA deals

ExxonMobil and Chevron have each handed services giant Saipem lucrative contracts for work off West Africa.

The deals from the US supermajor duo cap a busy week for Eni-connected Saipem which in the past few days revealed other large contracts in the same region.

Chevron offshoot Cabinda Gulf Oil has taken Saipem joint venture Petromar onboard for two development projects on Block 0 in the southern part of the Mafumeira field 30 kilometres off Angola.

Petromar will provide engineering, procurement and pre-fabrication services for modifications and tie-in on the existing Mafumeira Norte platform as well as on the future Mafumeira Sul production platforms.

The contract is set to be carried out between the fourth quarter next year…
