Extra time: Adira Energy gets licence extension for near-shore Israeli concession

Adira Energy has secured a third licence extension as it bids to secure finance and a rig to drill at its licences off Israel.

The Israel-based, Toronto-listed explorer said that the deadline for spudding the first well at its Samuel licence had now been pushed back by seven months to the end of April 2013.

“This gives us flexibility in our ability to identify a rig and sign a contract," said chief executive Jeffrey Walters of the extension on Tuesday.

Last month, Adira Energy said that the deadlines for the first spud at its other two Israeli licences, Gabriella and Yitzhak, had been moved to 30 June 2013 and 30 October 2013 respectively.
