Senex Energy will continue to drill ahead at its Shocking-1 well, in South Australia, after a mechanical failure prevented a valid result from a drill stem test of the well’s first primary target.

Senex Energy will continue to drill ahead at its Shocking-1 well, in South Australia, after a mechanical failure prevented a valid result from a drill stem test of the well’s first primary target.

Well partner Ambassador Oil & Gas announced earlier this week a drill stem test was being to run evaluate oil shows encountered while drilling through the primary target McKinlay formation.

However, on Wednesday it said a mechanical failure due to tool plugging had prevented it from obtaining a valid result from the test.
