Nido Petroleum has completed its 3D seismic survey over the offshore service contract 54 in the Philippines’ Palawan basin and will start processing of the data next week.
The company said that this will be completed by the end of this month and evaluation of the 640 square kilometre survey expected to start immediately thereafter.
Nido added that completion of the 3D survey and earlier 2D seismic satisfies its work commitment for the current phase of exploration.
It noted that the joint venture plans to shoot an additional 180 square kilometres of 3D seismic in the second quarter of 2007 to further evaluate the Pagasa turbidite play fairway. This will be shot by Veritas under the same contract.
