Comanche holds promise for Otis

Texas: Otis has encountered both oil and gas in the second test well on its Comanche project

Australia-listed Otis Energy has hit both oil and gas in the second test well at its Comanche project in North Central Texas.

The well was drilled to a total depth of 2493 metres, with oil and gas shows being encountered throughout the drilling of 914 metres of horizontal hole in the Marble Falls limestone formation.

The drilling rig had been released after 5.5-inch casing was run to total depth through the horizontal lateral last Saturday.

Otis is currently planning to fracture stimulate the well, which is expected to be completed by the end of the month or early August, depending on frac crew and equipment availability.
