Pemex maintenance: KMZ to be affected for a time

Pemex said it expects maintenance at its top Ku-Maloob-Zaap offshore complex to be completed this week and total "deferred" production losses to be about 750,000 barrels of crude oil.

The Mexican state oil company said maintenance operations at KMZ, as the fields are known, began 3 July and were expected to be completed by the end of the day Wednesday. The annual maintenance was on equipment that processes oil and gas on the ship Yuum Kak Naab, the firm said according to Dow Jones.

Pemex calls the production "deferred" since it plans to recover the oil at a later date, the news wire said.
