Obama: Gas an 'ideal energy source'

Gas is good:

US President Barack Obama touted the benefits of natural gas this week, saying he wants to encourage more production as long as it is done “safely”.

Speaking at a campaign stop in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Monday, Obama painted natural gas as an important energy source for the future.

“Natural gas actually burns cleaner than some other fossil fuels," the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette quoted Obama as saying. "It's an ideal energy source that we potentially could use for the next 100 years.

"So I want to encourage natural gas production. The key is to make sure that we do it safely and in a way that is environmentally sound."
