Australian explorer Bow Energy has spudded the first of three back-to-back exploration wells in the Cooper-Eromanga basin, Queensland.
The Marracoonda-2 well in the Wompi Block, ATP 752P, is being drilled by the Hunt Rig 2 to a total depth of 1900 metres.
All three wells target prospects in Wompi that are on trend and near existing oilfields.
The wells are part of a five well programme in the Wompi Block funded by Avery Resources to earn a 50% stake in ATP 752P.
Partners in ATP 752P are operator Bow (25%), Victoria Petroleum (25%) and Avery (50%).
