Zeta spuds Bobocu probe

Hopeful: Zeta has spudded an appraisal well on the Bobocu gas field in Romania targeting a best estimate of gas initially in-place of over 25 Bcf

Australia-listed Zeta Petroleum has spudded the Bobocu-310 appraisal and development well on the Bobocu gas field, onshore Romania.

The well lies in a crestal location at the centre of the Bobcu concession and is targeting two delta lobes in the Pontian interval.

The lobes overlay and Zeta said they could hold a best estimate of gas initially in-place of more than 25 billion cubic feet.

The well, which spudded on Monday, is expected to take about 30 days to drill to a total depth of 2700 metres, while it is anticipated a further 10 days will be needed to complete logging and testing operations.
