Exoma spuds fourth Galilee well

Exploring the Australian outback: Exoma has spudded the fourth well in its 18 to 22 well campaign in the Galilee basin

Australia’s Exoma Energy has spudded the fourth well in its current drilling campaign in the Galilee basin, onshore Queensland.

The Culloden-1 well is being drilled on ATP 991P to a total depth of 1340 metres to target coalbed methane (CBM) in the Betts Creek and Aramac coal measures and shale oil and gas in the Cretaceous Toolebuc shale.

Exoma said the coal measures would be cored for desorption testing while the shale formation would be control drilled and tested by chip sampling.

Following the completion of drilling the well will be logged and Exoma added selected intervals could be tested to measure permeability.
