Ivanhoe’s Dyck rides off

Ivanhoe Energy’s president David Dyck has quit the Canadian independent with almost immediate effect.

No explanation was given for the resignation of the executive, who is also chief operating officer of the Calgary-based outfit.

No immediate successor has been named with Dyck’s departure due on Tuesday.

Chairman Carlos Cabrera and co-chairman and founder Robert Friedland will instead share the responsibilities amongst them.

Cabrera said: “Dyck became president & COO in May 2010 and has led the company through a critical time in our history

"The board, Robert Friedland and I thank David for his considerable contributions to Ivanhoe Energy and wish him every success in his future endeavors."
